Joe Biden Talks a Good Game

Yet again we come to learn just how little many democrats really care about helping out the little guy or the needy.

Joe Biden and his wife reported giving a fraction of 1 percent of their income to charity during the past 10 years, well below the national average, tax records show.

The Bidens earned $319,853 in adjusted gross income and paid $72,787 in federal taxes in 2007. They claimed $995 in deductions for charitable giving, about triple what they deducted in any of the nine previous years. According to their tax returns they have given an average of $369 to charities over the last decade.

Their deductions for charitable giving, about one-fifth of 1 percent of their reported income is lower than the national average of about 3.1 percent, according to JustGive.org, a nonprofit organization that connects donors with charities.

The Bidens’ giving represents a smaller portion of their income than the $353 then-Vice President Al Gore was criticized for donating on an income of $197,729 in 1997.

Although I’m a long time Republican and not a fan of Ted Kennedy or his policies I must admit to being quite saddened to learn of his brain tumor. I wish him and his entire family the best as he fights the battle of his life.

If he works as hard at this as he did as a Senator he just might lick this tumor!
